FLEET THURSDAY RIDES
Ride Organisation - The rides take place under the auspices of the North Hampshire CTC and the ride leaders are CTC approved ride leaders. The lunchtime destination is often the Hampshire Midweek Fellowship listed venue although frequently, (e.g. because the destination is too far from Fleet) an alternative venue is chosen by the Organiser.

Participation – whilst guest riders are welcome it is expected that regular participants will become members of the CTC (not least to ensure that they have the benefits of individual third party insurance).

Start venue – Rides start and finish from the forecourt of 127 Crookham Road, Church Crookham, FLEET, Hampshire, GU51 5SA.

Start times – the start time varies according to the length of the ride. Participants should telephone Jack Watts on the Wednesday evening preceding the ride or sign up for a contact email (see below).

Distance and pace – The rides are medium paced (average about 11.5 mph) but always go at the speed of the slowest rider. The distance varies according to the lunchtime venue. In winter the ride length is between 30 to 40 miles although, in summer when the day length is longer, the distance can be 60 or 70 miles.

Contact email – Colin Waters will send out an email, usually on the Wednesday evening preceding the ride, before 19.00 hours giving details of the start time, coffee stop and lunch destination. If you would like to receive a weekly email then send Colin your details.

Cancellation – if the weather conditions are forecast to be hazardous the Organiser will decide whether it is safe to ride and may cancel at short notice. Such a decision would usually be advised in the contact email.

[Note about Hampshire Midweek Fellowship – this group is outside the CTC and issues a quarterly list of lunchtime meeting points which are at Inns or pubs across Hampshire.
The organiser is Angela Westall and she can provide a list to interested cyclists at an annual charge of £1 per household.]
