Welcome

CTC  North Hampshire is divided into three groups:
• Alton
• Fleet
• Farnborough

Regular rides start from Petersfield too and there is also an active off-road element with organised rides in and beyond the district.

We organise rides and other events to suit all abilities of cyclist, both on and off road. Visitors and non-members are welcome –
it costs nothing to join the majority of our rides but regular riders are expected to be members of the CTC.

You can join the CTC online.

For further information about CTC North Hampshire please contact Andrew Heaton.

Buying online from Wiggle

The 'Wiggle' link in the navigation bar to the left will take you to Wiggle's online shop. Not only will you find a large range of products at competitive prices, but each purchase made by going from this link earns the CTC North Hampshire group a small amount of commission... which all adds up (around £100 so far).

Publicity

To publicise CTC North Hampshire and our events, we have produced a couple of posters to be used locally. There is a general information poster and a blank that can be added to, either on a PC and printed, or by hand after printing.

General Information

Blank

As we are a group spread across North Hampshire it is often difficult to get to hear about local matters affecting us as cyclists. So if you've some news in your area that might be of interest to others further afield, please pass details on and we'll put it up on this site. email

Cycle Parking in the Malls .

Thank you everyone who wrote to protest about the lack of cycle parking provision in the proposed new refurbishment of the Malls.  Thanks to all your efforts the planning application was not passed behind closed doors but had a very public airing at the Planning Control committee.  This was reported in the local Gazette where cycling had a high profile.  It was certainly not passed on the nod as the headline indicated.

Although the planning application was passed it was amended that Councillor Biermann chairman of the Basingstoke Bicycle Users Group is to meet with officers and survey the Malls to identify where cycle stands should be erected.  We also had a lot of support from other councillors, so a campaign that was well worth it.

CTC’s Cycle Champions Officer in Reading, Helen Biggerstaff, is collecting unwanted bicycles. So far employees from Pepsico UK Ltd have donated a few bikes, but Helen and her team of volunteers are looking for more. The bikes that are donated will be given to Reading Borough Council’s Youth Engagement Service and used during bike maintenance courses. If you live nearby and have a spare bike, please contact Helen Biggerstaff.
