CTC North Hants early summer weekend away at Moreton-in-Marsh

Some camped locally, just round the corner, others stayed in hotels or B+Bs further afield. On Friday afternoon the early arrivals gathered for a ride out of Moreton to the NW, swinging around the top via country lanes to return from the NE.

The skies were threatening and rain was innevitable at some stage, though not long or hard enough to dampen our spirits.

friday 2

After the rain – lining up for the biggest climb of the day.

More rain threatened but didn't come.

At one point some serious navigational discussion was necessary, we even recruited the assistance of a local and a passing cyclist who was on his way to Birmingham!

Saturday morning at the meeting point for our second ride out.

The full bunch before we all set off in two groups – 'fast' and 'not so fast'

We all meet up at Burford for lunch.

It was the start of the Burford festival so we were graced with the presence of a town crier and Morris Dancers.
