Late March 2009. Starting just North of Stonehenge, we head south, past the huge stones and out across the rolling hills of Salisbury Plain. No really big climbs or descents but lots of miles and plenty of tracks to chose from.

Photo's courtesy Richard Brown – who took a heavy tumble on the ride and has a broken helmet to prove it! Get mended soon Richard.

The essence of Salisbury Plain: Rolling, open hills and big views.

An innocuous looking track across an open field but soft ground and stutter bumps
made it hard and had us all blowing.

Looking back the way we had come.

Down a rather overgrown chute after a minor detour on the slopes above: the farmer had ploughed
up to the edge of the field, obliterating the byeway.

The almost obligatory stop to mend a puncture. Should have used 'Stan's John :)

Rolling again – after a sunny but sometimes chilly pub-stop lunch.
